Two Chicago men have been charged with robbing two phone stores in Summit earlier this year.

Jacari Franklin and Austin White are charged with robbing the T-Mobile store at 5640 S. Harlem Ave. on March 28 and the AT&T store at Archer and Harlem avenues on April 18, police said.

Police said Franklin was taken into custody on a separate incident by Chicago police on April 18.

Summit detectives were able to associate him with the robberies that occurred in Summit.

Summit Investigators were then able to identify an additional suspect in the Summit incidents and obtained an arrest warrant for White.

That information was shared with Chicago police who on June 13 arrested White and him turned over to Summit police.

Detectives finalized the investigation and White was charged with four counts of armed robbery with additional charges expected.

Franklin, who is in custody for the Chicago matter, will also be charged through direct indictment for both Summit incidents.
