IHSA announces postseason assignments for baseball, softball, girls soccer

The IHSA has announced the Class 3A and 4A baseball seeds were revealed and Nazareth, which is seeking its third straight state championship will have to do it in Class 4A after winning two straight in 3A in 2022 and 2023.
The Roadrunners drew the top seed at the Reavis Sectional while Lyons was second and Reavis third.
In Class 3A, De La Salle earned the top seed in the Brooks Sectional. At the Evergreen Park Sectional, St. Laurence was the top seed while St. Rita was second.
Softball
The Class 3A and 4A seeds were announced, and in Class 3A, all of the top four seeds at the Hinsdale South Sectional are from the area. St. Laurence drew the top seed followed by Nazareth, Evergreen Park and De La Salle.
In Class 4A, defending state champion Marist picked up the top seed in its own sectional.
Soccer
At the Hinsdale Central Sectional, Lyons picked up the second seed.
In Class 2A, St. Laurence snagged the third seed in the Kankakee Sectional while Back of the Yards earned the fourth seed.
In Class 1A, Chicago Christian picked up the third seed in Sub Sectional A of the Herscher Sectional.
