In conjunction with other community partners, State Rep. Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is co-hosting a prescription drop-off event on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Northfield Square Mall East parking lot, 1600 N. State Rt. 50 in Bourbonnais.

“I invite all District 79 area residents to come by and drop off any unwanted or expired medication,” said Rep. Haas. “Properly disposing of prescription medications is one important way to keep our community safe. I look forward, once again, to hosting this event along with many other community stakeholders who also are invested in making our communities safer.”

Accepted medications include tablets, capsules, other solid forms of prescription drugs, patches, and vaping devices and cartridges (lithium batteries removed). Restricted items include liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, and needles.

This is a free drive-up event, co-hosted by the Kankakee County Health Department, I-KAN Regional Office of Education, Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG), Life Education Center Pledge for Life Partnership, State Sen. Patrick Joyce, and local law enforcement.
