Honorata Bis (nee Donicz), age 71, passed away peacefully with loving family by her side February 27.

Beloved wife of Adam Bis; loving mother of Konrad Bis and Monika (Mariusz) Sarna; dear grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Amelia and Szymon; dearest daughter of the late Irena (nee Szaniawska) and the late Jan Donicz; dear sister of the late Andrzej Donicz and Rajmund Donicz. Loved and remembered by her niece and nephews, relatives and friends.

BuczkoPHILOMENA “PHYLLIS” BUCZKO

Philomena “Phyllis” Buczko (nee Lattanzio), age 94, recently of Westchester, lived most of her life in Chicago’s Garfield Ridge community, passed away March 14.

She was the beloved wife of the late LeRoy Buczko.; loving mother of Mark (Linda) Buczko and Cynthia Buczko; dear sister of the late Anthony (late Mary) Lattanzio, late Eugene (late Grace) Lattanzio, late Palmera Lattanzio, late Loretta Lattanzio, late Dominic (Michelle)Lattanzio and Yolanda De Soto. She will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Sister-in-law and friend to many. Philomena will be missed by her special granddogs, Greta and Ravyn. She worked at Mategrano’s Restaurant in Little Italy for over 10 years, and proud to have been the cook for the parish priests at Queen of the Universe and St. Symphorosa rectories for many years. Philomena’s passions were baking, cooking, playing bingo, and watching the Food Network and Turner Classic Movies.

Visitation was held March 18 at St. Faustina Kowalska Church, 5252 S. Austin, Chicago, until time of Mass. Procession from the church to Resurrection Cemetery where Philomena was laid to rest next to her beloved husband.

Esther Izaguirre (nee Almazan) graced this world for 98 years, passed away peacefully at home March 20, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Amado; loving mother of Lauro (Jennie) Izaguirre, Fernando (Olivia) Izaguirre, Jose (Denise) Izaguirre, Ernestina (Miguel) Velazquez, Esther (Larry) Fitzgerald, Maria Izaguirre, Amado (Xiomara) Izaguirre, the late Gilberto (late Virginia) Izaguirre, late Javier Izaguirre, late Rodolfo (Mary) Izaguirre, late Filiberto Izaguirre and the late Juanita (Oliverio) Guevara. Cherished grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother of many. Esther was preceded in death by her many brothers and sisters. Esther touched many with her gracious and giving spirit. She was a woman of strong faith who instilled in her family the importance of family, hard work and always doing what is right. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in her children and their children’s children. The world is a better place because of Esther. May she rest in peace.

Visitation was held March 25 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation March 26 at the funeral home until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Daniel the Prophet Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Esther was laid to rest next to her husband at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Edward G. Lynn, age 64, passed away March 1.

Cherished son of the late Mary (nee Baiger) and the late Edward F. Lynn; dear brother of Donna (Mark) Howe, Kathy Lynn, Mary Jo (Rich) Koldenhoven, Kevin (Donna) Lynn and the late James Lynn. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association are appreciated.

Robert J. Neal, “Bob” passed away March 11, at the age of 70.

Our hearts are broken to announce the passing of Iris Neida Hernandez Olivieri, age 77, of Chicago, Ashburn community on March 18.

She was the loving mother of Iris Alvarado, Neida Alvarado, Rafael (Claudia) Alvarado, Lynda (Luis) Nieves and Victor (Josephine) Martinez; cherished grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 16. Dear sister of Pedro, Antonio, Luis, Miguel, Mary, Natividad Anna, Gloria and the late Abraham, late Jose, and late Milagros. Iris was preceded in death by her parents Antonio Hernandez and Ana Olivieri.

Visitation was held March 22 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation at the funeral home on March 23 until time of Celebration of Life Service. Beloved husband of Paulina Sandrzyk (nee Kadlub); loving father of Tadeusz (Aniela) Sandrzyk, Jozef (Krystyna) Sandrzyk, Krzysztof (Anna) Sandrzyk and Lucyna (Krzysztof) Bugajski; dear grandfather of Michael, Marek, Agnieszka, Mateusz, Natalia, Krystian, Veronika, Annette, Dawid, Justyna, and Pawel; dearest great-grandfather of Annabelle, Julian, and Alan; cherished son of the late Karolina and the late Karol Sandrzyk; fond brother of the late Alojzy (the late Maria) Sandrzyk, Malgorzata (the late Jan) Palenik, the late Stefania (the late Jozef) Harkabuzik and the late Karol (the late Malgorzata) Sandrzyk.  Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Bertalan and the late Richard Bertalan Jr.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tinley Park Community Church, 7939 W. 167th Street, Tinley Park. Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation was held March 14 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem) a Service in Celebration of Norbert’s life followed. Family and friends met at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery on March 15, where Norbert was buried with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers Memorial to Alcoholics Anonymous, Airedale Rescue, U.S.O. or any Veterans Organizations would be appreciated.
