College Basketball | St. Xavier men’s, women’s players earn all-conference honors

Three SXU men’s basketball players earned all Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors.

Senior guard Cedric Johnson claimed all-CCAC first team honors and junior forward Andre Brandon was named to the second team. Freshman forward James Stevenson was named CCAC Freshman of the Year in addition to being on the all-freshman team.

Johnson was a four-time CCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week this season and led the team in scoring at 22.3 points per game while averaging 7.5 rebounds per game.

Brandon started all 29 games for SXU (16-13) and shot a team-best 40% percent (62-for-155) from 3-point range. He was second in scoring at 13.8 points per game.

Stevenson shot a team-leading 58.6 percent (99-for-169) for 221 points and averaged 8.2 points per game.

Four members of the women’s team (16-12) were named all CCAC.

Junior forward Alyssa Crenshaw and sophomore guard Jaidn Green claimed All-CCAC Second Team honors. Senior guard Bethany Baldwin and junior guard Aaliyahna Derrell were both named All-CCAC Honorable Mentions.
