Expansion follows investment of more than $1.4 billion in Illinois during the past three years.
Comcast recently announced it has completed its network expansion to Manhattan. Residents and businesses throughout the village now have access to Comcast’s full suite of Xfinity residential and Comcast Business services, including internet speeds faster than a gig.
“State-of-the-art internet and WiFi connectivity is crucial to schoolwork, the workplace, and almost every other aspect of our lives,” said Manhattan Chamber of Commerce President Becky Bouck. “It also helps communities attract and retain residents and businesses and drives economic growth.”

Comcast offers the following Xfinity services to residential customers across Manhattan: Xfinity Internet, Xfinity Mobile, Xfinity TV, Xfinity Home, and Xumo Stream. Businesses in Manhattan also have access to Comcast Business’ full suite of services, including internet speeds up to 100 Gbps, Ethernet, Advanced Voice, Comcast Business Mobile, and a variety of Cloud services and other advanced services.
In addition, the expansion provides Manhattan households with access to Comcast’s Internet Essentials program, which is a low-cost internet service available to eligible low-income households with students of all ages, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and public housing residents enrolled in government assistance programs, ranging from Medicaid and SSI to SNAP. The program has helped 1.9 million Illinois residents connect to the internet at home since it launched in 2011.
