Palos Hills to start posting job openings

The Palos Hills Economic Development Department will start making job postings accessible for locals to scope out the job scene.
Mayor Gerald Bennett and aldermen highlighted the city’s flourishing local business climate during the city council meeting on Feb. 15.
Ald. Donna O’Connell said the city’s Economic Development Department will be able to provide residents and interested parties a list of local wanted jobs, O’Connell said.
“We will have a page with job postings within Palos Hills,” she said.
O’Connell added that the city’s mascot Ruby (the heart) had a busy week. She said Ruby has been visiting businesses in Palos Hills.
“Most of them are doing relatively well, thriving,” O’Connell said. “A lot of businesses in Palos Hills have ‘help wanted’ signs, so if you know anyone who needs a job, we have many right here in town.”
Council members were given a sweet treat by local business Cake N Bake, located at 10456 S. Harlem Ave. Aldermen and Bennett were each gifted with little boxed goodies.
“They have an incredible array of pastries and cakes and wanted to treat us all,” O’Connell said.
Community members will have several opportunities to join the Palos Hills Resource & Recreation Center’s upcoming March events, but be sure to register in advance:
- The Golden Coin Hunt is set for Saturday, March 16, at Bennett Park at 11 a.m.
- On March 22, join in on a Flashlight Egg Hunt (for 10 -to 13-year-olds) at Bennett Park at 8 p.m.
- Lastly, the annual Breakfast with the Bunny is on Saturday, March 23, at the Palos Hills Community Center.
