On Friday, January 26, while on the road, the Bobcats boys varsity basketball team wrapped up the regular season River Valley Conference Championship with a victory over Grace Christian Academy, 85-51.
In the contest, Zack Johnson led with 16 points and 4 assists, Ethan Rydberg tallied 10 points and 2 steals, Jack Hayhurst also had 10 points, along with 3 steals, Anthony Moran added 9 points, while Adyn McGinley finished the night with 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Then on Saturday, January 27, at their Beecher Shootout, in the Bobcats’ first game, they beat the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones of Bloomington, 64-51.
In their second contest, Beecher also managed to curtail the Rockridge Rockets from Taylor Ridge, 64-40.
Orlin Nesbitt led the Bobcats with 17 points, Zack Johnson tallied 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals, and Adyn McGinley finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 6 steals. Ethan Rydberg and Jack Hayhurst each scored 8 points on the night, while Rydberg also had 5 rebounds and Hayhurst 3 steals.
Beecher ends the week at a perfect 23-0 overall and 9-0 in the RVC.
