The Beecher Bobcats spent their winter break by bringing home another tournament championship for the school. They played Lena-Winslow on December 28 at the Cliff Warkins Memorial Holiday Tourney at Erie High School, then came home a 61-41 victory.
On the day, Jack Hayhurst had 13 points and 4 rebounds, Orlin Nesbitt also tallied 13 points, along with 5 rebounds, Adyn McGinley added 12 points, 12 assists, and 3 steals, while Zack Johnson finished with 10 points.
In the semi-final game on December 29, Beecher beat the Port Byron Riverdale Rams in a somewhat tighter contest, 78-71. Adyn McGinley led the team with 31 points and 6 assists, Zack Johnson closely followed with 24 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds, Noah Berry recorded 8 points, while Ethan Rydberg finished with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.
In the championship game on Saturday, December 30, the Bobcats beat the Mercer County Golden Eagles, 49-42, to take the championship!! Way to go, Bobcats!
