December 1, Peotone Police have received multiple calls referencing suspicious person/s in the area. It has been determined these are field crews for the Peotone Township Assessor’s Office, who are measuring outside of homes and all parcel improvements. December 2, Peotone Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in the 100 Block of W. North St. Officer/s responded, spoke with parties, and no further action was required.
December 3, a Police Officer, upon effecting a traffic stop on a vehicle for an improper display of license plate, ran the driver’s license, which resulted in finding the driver to be wanted on a warrant in Kankakee County. Ms. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to the Peotone Police Department, where she was cited for improper display of registration, processed on warrant, posted bond, and released with court dates issued.
December 3, a Peotone Officer initiating a traffic stop on a vehicle with improper lighting, ran the driver’s license resulting in notification the driver was wanted on a warrant in Kankakee County. Sledge was cited for improper lighting and driving while license suspended/revoked. Sledge was then transferred to the custody of Kankakee County Sheriffs.
December 4, a Peotone Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for improper lane usage. The Officer issued three citations, including improper lane usage, transportation or possession of open alcohol, and not having a driver’s license on person while operating a motor vehicle. Nevinger was issued a court appearance date and released.
December 5, Peotone Police responded to Assist Fire Department and responded to a fire alarm at the truck stop. No assistance was needed upon arrival, as the alarm was activated due to construction of the restaurant.
December 6, a Peotone Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. Upon the driver not being able to provide proof of insurance, the Officer issued two citations, including operating a vehicle with expired registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The driver, Wesolowski, was issued a court appearance date and released.
December 7, Peotone Police were requested to respond to McDonald’s, 701 Oriole, Peotone, for an unwanted person harassing customers in the parking lot. Officer/s responded and spoke with the caller and the subject, who was in the parking lot. Upon the establishment’s request, the subject was issued a barring notice and left the premises.
