Several dozen special-needs boys and girls were let in early at the Midway Chamber of Commerce’s annual Snack With Santa, held earlier this month at Mayfield Banquets. The special time was the brainchild of the Midway Cool Kids Club, a social club founded earlier this year by Geno Randazzo of All Exterior Contractors. The early entrance was engineered so special-needs children could avoid the crush and noise of the hundreds of other children at the event–which is distressing to some. In addition to whispering their Christmas wishes to Santa and Mrs. Claus, the children joked with costumed characters like the Grinch and Elmo, enjoyed a puppet show, had a snack, received a free gift and posed at a photo booth. – Supplied photo
