November 28, the Peotone Police, after effecting a traffic stop on a vehicle failing to yield to merging traffic, placed the driver, Ms. Martinez, under arrest for driving while license is suspended. Two citations were issued to the driver: Driving with suspended license and failing to yield to merging traffic. Martinez was given a notice-to-appear and released at the scene.
November 30, officers assisted the Will County Sheriff for a report of a car in the ditch. The owner was located, and a private tow was called; nothing further.
The police department received multiple complaints concerning residents burning leaves in their yard. It is illegal within the Village of Peotone to burn anything that creates smoke or odors that would constitute a nuisance to surrounding residents. All incidents were resolved without citation.
