DAVID BOTELLO

David Botello, 43, passed away peacefully on November 25 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

David is survived by his wife, Ewa (Lazowska); his son, Matthew; mother, Roxanne Botello, and mother-in-law, Lodzia. Also survived by maternal grandmother, Gloria Pearl, aunts, uncle and many relatives and friends.

David was born on August 29, 1980, in Chicago. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Criminal Justice and English Literature.

David was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs (sorry, Sox fans!). He was an excellent cook and a lover of theater and film.

His zest for life was painfully interrupted by his diagnosis of kidney failure due to lupus and antiphospholipid syndrome. Thanks to his Mom, he successfully underwent a kidney transplant and returned to work for the Lincoln Park Zoo.

Unfortunately, through the years, he was diagnosed with several more chronic medical problems that took a toll on his life.

Despite progressing health issues, he stayed optimistic and looked to the future. David was a true fighter and faced problems with resilience and hope.

His last fight was the hardest.

He will always be remembered as a loving father, husband and son. And his fight for life should leave us with inspiration to never give up and fight until the last breath. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Wednesday, November 29, from 3-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be Thursday from the Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home to Saint Francis Assisi Church in Orland Park for 10:30 a.m. Mass. Interment Good Shepherd Cemetery Orland Park.
