Organizers have so much in store for the community at the Crete Country Christmas, December 1 – 3, and hope you’ll join them to celebrate the season. It seems there’s something for everyone – young and old, including a Grinch 5K, Breakfast with the Grinch, Santa visits, a Cocoa and Cookie Crawl, Holiday House Walk, Gnome for the Holidays Gift Hunt, Holiday Cookie Sale, Hayrides, Reindog Contest, AND MORE!

This year, the Kris Kringle Market, with a large list of vendors, will be at Crete Church, 24755 S. Coventry Lane, on Saturday, December 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Also on Saturday, the Parade of Lights begins at 6 p.m., heading north on Main Street!

There also are 27 free community events at local businesses, with most within walking distance of the Crete Country Christmas Tent. An awesome schedule of entertainment awaits you all weekend long! Head to the tent, which is on Cass Street, between Main and Wood, to check it all out! In the tent you’ll also find food vendors and the Lions Club Saloon!

But, the fun doesn’t end on Sunday! Crete’s Santa Sleigh Parade is on Monday, December 4, and Tuesday, December 5! Each night, the parade begins at 5 p.m. Monday, Santa will travel around downtown Crete (Zone 1). On Tuesday, Santa will be in the Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire East, and Swiss Valley neighborhoods (Zone 2)! Watch for Santa to pass by, come out to say hello, and take a photo with the big guy!

If you are able, organizers also are collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations for the Crete Food Pantry, with checks made payable to the pantry, as well as new, unwrapped toys for the Angels on Assignment Toy Drive! Simply leave your donations on the curb, and Santa’s helpers will scoop them up! Every little bit helps, and it will help others to have a happy holiday season!

For the entire list of entertainment and activities throughout the weekend, please visit the Crete Country Christmas website so you don’t miss a thing!
