Chaput (nee Kolacki); loving father of Richard (Karen) Chaput, Mark (the late Michelle) Chaput, Cheryl (Dennis) Sutkowski and Adrienne (James) Boothe; dear grandfather of Jessica Chaput, Sean (Jordan) Chaput, Nichole Chaput, Anna Boothe and Amberlynn Boothe; dearest great-grandfather of Astraea Chaput; cherished son of the late Estelle (nee Rusin) and the late Phillip Chaput; fond brother of Carol (the late Ronald) Thompsen. Also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Phillip was a 15 year member of the Hometown Fire Protection District and a 35 year member of the Indian Creek Ranch.

She was the beloved wife of Paul Haak; loving mother of Michael (Shannon) and James (Laura) Mc Mahon; Cherished grandmother of Hailey, Aiden, Kristian and Emilia Mc Mahon; dearest sister of John “Jack” (Susan) and Thomas “Tom” (Susan) Bartkus; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Violetta “Violetka” Ewa Koszylko, age 41, passed away at home November 12 after an extended illness.

She was born on June 25, 1982, and is survived by father Jozef and adoptive mother Zofia Koszylko (Borkowska), loving parents who raised her from infancy. Her biological mother Helena Koszylko (Sloniec) (div., dec.) preceded her in death. She is also survived by brothers Darek and Peter Koszylko, and her boyfriend Marcin Krogulski.

Brian Krol, age 44, of Brookfield, formerly of Brighton Park.

Beloved husband of Tracy Krol (nee Headley); loving father of Kayla Krol  and stepfather to Michael Moran-Headley; dear son of Donald and Mary Krol (nee Paskvan); cherished bother of Julie Krol; son in law of Kathy and the late Walter Headley; dedicated friend to many.

A Memorial Visitation was held November 19 to time of Service at Hitzeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield.

Brian was a Senior Voice Engineer for Northwestern Medicine in their telecommunications department.  He attended Five Holy Martyrs grammar school class of 1993 and graduated from St. Rita High School class of 1997.  He was a dedicated volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, St. Symphorosa Pack 4439, Troop 1439 and a proud Member of the BSA Order of the Arrow

MalecCATHERINE C. MALEC

Catherine C. Malec RN, passed away peacefully with her family at her side November 9.

She was the beloved wife for 55 years to the late Deacon Albert C. Malec Sr.; loving mother of Philip (Mary), Albert Jr. (late Jeanette), Thomas (Mary) Malec and Mary Malec (Chuck Lones); much loved grandmother of Laura, Colleen (Dave), Bill, Kevin, Elizabeth, Sarah, Carl and Anthony; dear great grandmother of Emma, Grayson, Henry, Brynlee and Aidan. Devoted member of St. Daniel the Prophet Parish, Catherine unconditionally gave of her time as a deacon’s wife and loyal member of the church. She was a member of St. Daniel’s Women’s Club, St. Daniel St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Bereavement Ministry, St. Daniel’s Parish Nursing Group, and worked as the school nurse from 1972 to 1981. She also was an Auxiliary member of American Legion Marvin Seamann Post. A 1950 graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing, Catherine began her career as a staff nurse at Hines V.A. Hospital where she met her husband and later worked at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Catherine was a lifelong Cubs fan!

Visitation was held November 15 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Family and friends met November 16 at St. Daniel the Prophet Church until time of mass. Procession from the church to Resurrection Cemetery where Catherine was laid to rest next to her husband. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Daniel St. Vincent de Paul Society. REV. THOMAS A. MORAN 

Rev. Thomas A. Moran, age 78, former pastor at St. Hugh Parish and pastor emeritus of Our Lady of the Brook Parish in Northbrook (now known as St. Norbert-Our Lady of the Brook Parish), passed away November 8.

Fr. Moran was ordained to the priesthood on May 12, 1971, by Cardinal John Cody. After ordination, Fr. Moran was assistant pastor at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Wheeling and St. Bonaventure Parish on Diversey Parkway in Chicago.

He then served as associate pastor at St. Ita Parish on Broadway Street, St. Thecla Parish on Devon Avenue, and St. Tarcissus Parish on Ardmore Street, all in Chicago. He was also associate pastor at St. John Brebeuf Parish in Niles and St. Marcelline Parish in Schaumburg.

He then served as pastor at St. Hugh Parish in Lyons for 10 years from 1995 to 2005, and at Our Lady of the Brook Parish from 2005 to 2014, when he was bestowed the title of pastor emeritus.

Funeral services took place at St. Norbert-Our Lady of the Brook Parish, 1809 Walters Avenue in Northbrook, on November 15. Interment was at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Chicago.

Fiona Philomena O’Neill, aged 26, passed away November 8 surrounded by her loving family.

Precious daughter of Kevin and Maureen (nee Glynn) O’Neill (CPD-008), loving sister of Colm (Sarah), Louise (Sarah), Caishlin, and Sela; loving aunt of Layla and Sean; special aunt to William Wallace and Finley; beloved niece and cousin to many. Preceded in death by her grandparents Peter and Esther O’Neill (Ireland) and Thomas and Philomena Glynn. Special thank you to Fiona’s home care nurses for their dedication and love these past 26 years.
