On Tuesday, November 21, at approximately 7:45 a.m., the City of Kankakee Police Department received notification that a bomb threat was made via social media to Bishop McNamara Catholic School, at 550 West Brookmont Boulevard, Kankakee.
School officials, along with City of Kankakee Police, Kankakee County Police, the Kankakee Fire Department, and other law enforcement agencies immediately evacuated all students from the school and grounds to neighboring facilities for their protection. Local law enforcement completed a sweep of the building, reviewed security cameras, and found the threat was not creditable, and the school was safe and secure.
At approximately 8:50 a.m., school officials, in conjunction with law enforcement, released students to return back to school and resume classes.
