It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua Peter Douglas, who was called home on November 12, 2023. Josh, as he was fondly called by family and friends, was born 36 years ago to Peter and Jeannette Douglas, on August 8, 1987, in Hammond, Indiana.
Although Josh had an arduous journey over the years, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace in heaven. Despite his struggles, he was a good person and had a beautiful soul. The Lord felt it was time for him to be called home and be reunited with those who passed before him, especially his paternal grandfather, John “Papou” Douglas, and maternal grandparents Tom and Dixie Ewing.
Josh is survived by his loving parents, Peter and Jeannette Douglas; sister, Gabrielle (Grant) Hawkins; paternal grandmother, “Yiayia” Elaine Douglas; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Haller; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 18, with Joshua’s uncle, Pastor Tom Ewing Jr., as officiant, at Hack-Jensen Funeral Home in Beecher.
Monetary donations may be made in Joshua’s name to St Luke’s United Church of Christ. Arrangements were under the direction of Hack-Jensen Funeral Home, Beecher.
