Peotone American Legion Post 392, the Peotone American Legion Auxiliary, and the Manhattan/Peotone Consolidated Fire Protection District will co-host the 75th Anniversary Turkey Raffle at the Peotone American Legion Post Hall, North and Railroad Streets, on Friday, November 17, from 4:30 – 9 p.m. This event had a one-year hiatus in 2022 and is making a come-back this year.
The Legion fish fry for November also has been moved to this date to coordinate efforts into having just one fish fry in November – at the turkey raffle. Food will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and includes ocean perch or catfish, with coleslaw and fries for $15 and/or a hot dog and fries for $5. The auxiliary also will have delicious desserts available for purchase at $2 each. Draft eight-ounce beers are $2 each, along with other beverages available from the Legion Lounge.
The raffle begins at 5 p.m. and runs to approximately 9 p.m., featuring both large and small turkeys. A basket raffle/auction also will be held that evening. This is a fundraiser benefitting all three organizations, so come out and have some fun on November 17 – all for a good cause!
