EVELEEN “BUNNY” BETTINARDI

Eveleen “Bunny” Bettinardi, 88, of Palos Heights, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023, surrounded by her children and their families.

She was a devoted and loving wife to Donald Bettinardi for over 50 years, who preceded her in death in 2005, and never ceased expressing her deep love and desire to be with Don again one day in heaven.

She was an extraordinary mother to six children; Kathy (Daniel) Angres, Bryon (Sheila) Bettinardi, Robert (Ann) Bettinardi, Kristine (Joseph) LaRocco, Joseph (Sheila) Bettinardi and James (Cathy) Bettinardi, and exemplified unconditional love for each of them always.

Her home was filled with pictures of her deeply beloved grandchildren; Dana, Angela, Dominic, Rachel, Sam, Gia, Bridgette, Joey, Nicky, Carly, Joey, Maggie, Michael, Rocco, Aidan and Brianna, and great grandchildren; Anthony, Joey, Adrianna, Milania, Ellie, Matteo, Luciana, Zoe, Will and Leo.

She had a favorite response to her children’s confessions, “There is nothing wrong with that…” displaying her unwavering love and support, never leaving doubt that she thought they were extraordinary.

She devoted her life to her family, but left room for many friends, travel, and most significantly a deep and abiding faith that centered around Catholicism and The Blessed Mother Mary. She visited many apparition sights around the world, which deepened her faith and increased her unlimited kindness to others.

She also worked side by side with her husband to start a successful business, typing invoices for him at her dining room table while her children were eating one of her homemade meals.

Her countless friends included those from childhood, her years raising her children in Evergreen Park at Holy Redeemer Parish, and those she met at the Cursillo.

She was also a loving daughter to Joseph and Genevieve Peuvion, and extended family was often included in the numerous celebrations in her home. She loved her nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren as fiercely as her children, and always had a kind word or a smile for others, often followed by an invitation to accept a gift from her to express her appreciation of a service or just their existence.

A Funeral Mass was held at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th Street, Crestwood, on Monday, October 23. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

MICHAEL E. BOCK

Michael E. Bock passed away unexpectedly October 9.

He was the beloved son of Wayne Bock III  and the late Sharon Bock; loving brother of Wayne Bock IV (Jannette) and the late Sherry Bock; dear uncle to Iris; dearest grandson of Mary and the late Edward Hendrickson and Elizabeth and the late Wayne Bock Jr.; fond nephew of George and Doris Bock, Bill and Michelle Bock, Thomas and Maria Bock and Robert Wayne and Maria Hendrickson. Michael will be missed by his many cousins and friends.

Family and friends met October 20 at Resurrection Cemetery. Procession to the cemetery chapel where prayers were said for Michael.

ANNA M. GOLITKO

We celebrate the life of Anna M. Golitko (nee Wendt), 83, resident of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge community, who passed away October 11.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Golitko; cherished mother of Michael B. Golitko. Anna was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Helen Wendt.

Memorial visitation was held October 18 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. Visitation at the funeral home until time of prayers. Procession from the funeral to St. Daniel the Prophet Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.

MICHAEL GONZALEZ

Michael Gonzalez passed away October 17.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce and spouse of Athena; loving father of Michael A. Gonzalez (Dave); dear brother of the late Ralph Gonzalez Jr.; cherished son of the late Ralph and late Gloria Gonzalez. Michael will be missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Visitation in Celebration of Michael’s life was held October 20 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. in Summit. Visitation was held October 21 at the funeral home until time of service. Procession from the funeral home to St. Mary Cemetery where Michael was laid to rest.

DENISE M. KALE

We Celebrate the life of Denise Kale, 63, of Crete, who passed away October 10.

She was the loving mother of Ismial and the late Izat Morrar and cherished grandmother of Damian; loving partner for 19 years to Henning Nielsen and dear family to Peter and Tracee, Eric and Susan and ‘Grandma D’ to Lorelai Nielsen; former spouse of the late Peter Kale and dear to the hearts of her stepsons, John Kale Sr. (Tina), Chris Kale, Brian Kale (Tawnia). She loved and will be missed by her Kale family grandchildren: John Jr., Peter, Cory, Samantha and great-grandson Draven. Much loved sister of Sharon Patoska (Richard) and Daniel (Svetlana) Obrycki; dear aunt to Andrew and Brian (Amanda) Patoska and Vanessa and Jason Obrycki.

Denise touched everyone with her outgoing personality and love. With sparkle and humor, she was always interested in others, giving of her time and energy. Denise had an inspirational resilience and desire to live well. We will all remember her as someone who loved to entertain, dance, travel, and have a good time, but most of all she treasured her time with her sons and grandson.

She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Ladies of the Rosary, the Garden Walk Club of Crete, an original member of Northern Illinois Gold Prospectors and a student and a contestant in competitions at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Mokena.
