Mark those calendars for the following up-coming events that are sure to be of interest.
Garage Sale Days will be held October 13 and 14. Sign-up at www.cretechamber.com/events or pick-up an application at Old Plank Trail Bank, Crete Library, or village hall. To be included on the address list, information must be received by Tuesday, October 10.
Also, mark your calendars for the Crete Area Chamber of Commerce Crawl-o-Ween on Saturday, October 28, from 6 – 11 p.m., with check-in from 5 – 6 p.m., at the Old Town Mall, 1390 Main Street. The six participating bars include: Chuck’s Place, Main Street Exchange, Evil Horse Brewery, Smokey Jo’s, Jemma’s Slots, and Vintage Oak.
Once again, Crawl-o-Ween passports will be used. Get your passport stamped at each location and be entered to win the grand prize. Completed passports may be returned at any participating bar. It is highly recommended to pre-register for the Crawl. Participants will not receive a shirt and cannot be guaranteed passports if they do not pre-register by October 11. Pre-registration also makes check-in quicker. If you don’t care about receiving a t-shirt/passport, residents may still pre-register online until October 27.
The Chamber also again is offering Designated Driver perks, which include a shirt, swag bag, free soda throughout the night and more.
Also included in the festivities is a costume contest with prizes, so begin planning that costume now. The fee is $20 with pre-registration or $25 (cash only) the night of the crawl. Pre-registration deadline is October 11.
