More than two dozen people at an event in Bedford Park last week were injured when the tent they were meeting in collapsed.

Bedford Park Police said they responded to assist the Bedford Park Fire Department at 10:44 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, in the 5600 block of West 73rd Street with a tent collapse in a parking lot with multiple injuries.

The Bedford Park Fire Department, along with multiple fire department agencies from surrounding communities, transported 26 patients to area hospitals for treatment. Five of the patients that were transported were listed in serious condition.

The cause of the tent collapse is under investigation.

The police department said it had no other information available.

The Bedford Park Fire Department did not respond to requests for information.

  1. Ik what happened I used to work there and know ppl who still do they didn’t tie down the tent it wasn’t secure and the wind blew it up and then smashed down taking tables and everyone with it
