Alejandro “Alex” Jonah Cardenas, 18, of Peotone, was sent to Heaven on Sunday, September 10, 2023. Born on July 29, 2005, in Chicago, he was the son of Oscar and Teresa Cardenas (nee Hernandez) and was the second of four children in a loving family. Alejandro was a 2023 graduate of Peotone High School, loved all sports, and you could always find him on the football field or the wrestling mat.
Alejandro was one of the most positive, uplifting, and unselfish people. He always was helping other people and motivating them to do their best, and would stand up for the little guy to make sure everyone was included and having fun. His gleaming smile truly will be missed by everyone.
He is survived by his loving parents, Oscar and Teresa; cherished brothers, Carlos, Adan, and Adrian Cardenas; beloved grandmother, Juan A Ramirez Nunez; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joan Sampognaro Hernandez.
