
The much-anticipated Frankfort Fall Fest is just around the corner, bringing together the community for a weekend of festivities, entertainment, and camaraderie. As we prepare for this exciting event, the Village of Frankfort would like to inform residents, visitors, and businesses about the temporary street closures, parking restrictions, and traffic adjustments that will be in effect to ensure the safety and smooth flow of activities during the fest.
Frankfort Fall Fest 2023 will be held from Saturday, September 2, through Monday, September 4, in downtown Frankfort. During the Fall Fest, several streets in the downtown area will be temporarily closed to accommodate the event’s various activities, vendors, and attendees. The following street closures will be in effect from September 2 through September 4:
- Street Closures: September 2 – 4, White Street (Elwood to Nebraska); Kansas Street (Maple to White); Oak Street (Kansas to Elwood); and Ash, Oak, and Hickory from Kansas to Nebraska.
- No Parking/Restricted Parking: White Street (Kansas to Elwood) – No Parking from August 30 through September 1, between 4 p.m. and 1 a.m.; Kansas Street (Maple to White) – No Parking September 1, at 3 p.m., with street closed at 4 p.m.; Oak Street (Kansas to Elwood) – No Parking August 30, from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., plus August 31, at 3 p.m., with street closed at 4 p.m.; Ash, Oak, and Hickory (Kansas to Nebraska) –No Parking August 31, at 3 p.m., with street closed at 4 p.m.; Kansas, Elwood, Nebraska (Linden to Elsner), Center, White, Sauk Trail, Old Frankfort Way, E & W Bowen, Carpenter, and Smith – Restricted Parking September 2 – 4, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Other areas no parking at any time.
- Parade Route on September 3 – Street Closures/No Parking: Pacific (Maple to Oak), Oak (Pacific to Utah), Utah (Oak to Ash), Nebraska (Locust to Ash), Ash (Utah to Nebraska) – No Parking from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Locust (south of Nebraska), Oregon (Locust to Maple), Utah (Locust to end of street), Maple (south of Oregon), Nebraska (Rt. 45 to Locust) – No Parking from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Streets will be closed from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Alternate routes will be clearly marked, and detour signs will guide drivers around the affected areas. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
