The Bobcat Varsity Girls Volleyball Team began their season with a loss, 23-25, 14-25, to Homewood-Flossmoor High School on Tuesday, August 22. The girls started the match with a lot of fire power but could not finish with a win. Special mention goes out to Katie Jones, with 5 kills and 3 aces. Also, Emily Avelar started the season strong with 6 kills and 5 digs. According to Coach Jon Herron, Homewood-Flossmoor was significantly taller, so the girls used their speed in order to keep up.

On Thursday, August 24, the varsity volleyball team had their first home game against Crete-Monee High School and came out with a victory, 25-23, 28-25. They got off to a slow start but battled their way to a two set victory. Special mention goes out to Mallory Berry, who had 10 assists in the match.
