Looking for a place to enjoy a deliciously unique, ice cold locally brewed beer or find the best location to sip on an after-work drink? How about discovering the perfect wine bar to impress your significant other? The Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau (CSCVB) has produced its second “Cheers and Beers” guide to help you do all that!

The 20-page guide features information about the 14 craft breweries in the Chicago Southland area, including flagship beers, events, live entertainment, award winning brews, plus much, much more. Listings include the oldest brewery in the region, Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery (Illinois Made winner), and pet-friendly Evil Horse Brewing Company in Crete.

Other Illinois Made winners in the guide include the first meadery in Chicago, Wild Blossom Meadery and Winery, and Vintrendi Wine Company in Park Forest. Illinois Made is a program that celebrates small businesses whose uniquely Illinoisan style and creativity set our locally made goods apart.

Information about the Dixie Highway Brewery Trail also is found in the guide and includes Thornton Distilling Co. (Illinois Made winner), which served as Al Capone’s largest bootlegging facility during prohibition. The guide also shares their famous old-fashioned cocktail.

Also included in the new “Cheers and Beers” guide is a listing of annual beer and wine related events and local hotel accommodations. All this information also may be found on the CSCVB’s website at VisitChicagoSouthland.com/CheersandBeers. Print copies of the guide are available and can be requested at VisitChicagoSouthland.com/InfoRequest.
