College Notebook | Illinois Wesleyan golfer Clifford sets program mark

Illinois Wesleyan golfer Quinn Clifford has been lauded as a member of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Team in men’s golf for the 2022-23 academic year.
Clifford, a Brother Rice graduate and Chicago resident, is the first Titans underclassman men’s golfer to receive Academic All-America status. He was honored for his sophomore year, during which he set the program’s record-low score when he shot 63 at the Carthage Fall Classic.
Clifford was named Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-Region, was a medalist at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament and won the Elite 26 Award, while twice being named the league’s Golfer of the Week.
He played 27 rounds on the season, registering 10 rounds of par or better and four top-five finishes.

Lewis track and field athlete Nadia Roberts has been named an All-Academic Athlete for the 2023 NCAA Division II season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Roberts, a Burbank resident and Reavis graduate, is majoring in nursing.
Cardinal Rules
North Central College tennis player Kayla McSweeney has been named a Scholar-Athlete for the 2022-23 season by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
McSweeney, an Oak Lawn resident and Richards graduate, finished her sophomore season 12-7 while competing primarily at No. 6 singles for the Cardinals (22-7 overall, 8-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin). In doubles competition, McSweeney was 6-2.
McSweeney was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
