Graduations
Kevin Mrozek, of Crete, was among 1,143 students who graduated from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia, during the 2022-23 academic year. Mrozek earned an undergraduate Certificate in Esports Coaching.
Kyle Auchstetter, of New Lenox, was among more than 4,555 students from Miami University in Ohio who received degrees during the in-person spring commencement May 13. Auchstetter graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Speech Path and Audiology.
More than 2,200 students received their degrees from Northern Illinois University in May. Included among the graduates were the following local students.

Kirkwood Community College Commencement Ceremony was held on Saturday, May 13, in downtown Cedar Rapids. Congratulations to Stephanie Salmen, of Beecher, who was awarded an Associate of Applied Science degree.
Carthage College congratulated Abigail Crowhurst, of New Lenox, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Dean’s/President’s Lists
More than 925 Elmhurst University students were named to the spring Dean’s List, including: Shelby Koeppen, of Grant Park; and Alexi Littmann, Julia Noga, Lindsey O’Donnell, and Mallory Sawyer, all of New Lenox.
The University of Alabama recently named students to the President’s List (4.0 GPA) and the Dean’s List (3.5 GPA or above) Congratulations to the following local students!
Named to the President’s List were: Ellie Degroot, Ennis Lang, Marie Moore, William Nash, Grace Otto, Josephine Schmitt, and Breck Woltman, all of New Lenox.
Named to the Dean’s List were: Max Olejniczak and Brock O’Neill, of Manhattan; and Christa Kolavo, Andrew Kwak, Nicholas Stafford, and Jonathan Stiglic, all of New Lenox.
Illinois Wesleyan University’s Dean’s List for the spring semester consisted of 731 students from 30 states and 29 countries, including the following local students: Carla Snyder of Beecher; Isabella Parish – Peotone; and Kailee Galloway, Carter Kameron, Nick Tingley, and John Orrico, all of New Lenox.
Loras College, in Iowa, announced students who achieved Dean’s List status for the spring semester, including Drake Sorensen, of Peotone.
More than 6,400 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester of the 2022-23 academic year, including: Jason Wendling, from Crete; Megan Gerl – Manhattan; and Luke Mostello and Madeline Rose Tekiela, both from New Lenox.
Emily Phillip, of Monee, and Anthony Walker, of Peotone, were named to the Monmouth College spring semester Dean’s List.
