Frankfort to Get State Loan for Water System Improvements

At its Monday, May 15, meeting, the Frankfort Village Board passed a resolution approving a loan from the State of Illinois to be used to replace a number of water lines.

The Village of Frankfort entered into a loan agreement with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) in the amount of $1,840,535 to provide funds for the village’s lead service line replacement project, which included removal and replacement of approximately 200 lead service lines throughout the village.

The IEPA is reducing the loan by $809,585, based on final reported costs.

All conditions relative to the project work related to this drinking water loan have been satisfied.
