A “Fresh Produce Pop-Up Event” will be held from 1-3 p.m., on Thursday, May 11, at Community Lifeline Ministries, 158 S. Joliet Street, Joliet. Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is partnering with the Community Nutrition Network and Senior Services Association, Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, and Community Lifeline Ministries to host the event.
The event will provide attendees with free produce, vegetables, and protein, along with other food items provided by Community Lifeline Ministries. Members of the public, in need of food assistance, are welcome to attend without pre-approval or special requirements. Food is available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.
“Access to fresh and nutritious food is essential, and I invite anyone in need of assistance with groceries to attend this event,” said County Executive Bertino-Tarrant. “Many of our communities are facing increased need for resources to address food insecurity. I appreciate our partners for their hard work to ensure that food is available.”
