Swallow Cliff Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, participated in recent JROTC awards ceremonies held at Shepard High School in Palos Heights and Richards High School in Oak Lawn.

The DAR JROTC award, consisting of a medal and certificate, was presented to Navy C/LTJG Osasumwen Okungbowa at Richards High School by Chapter Treasurer Audra Gray.

At Shepard High School, Vice Regent Gale Shafer, accompanied Chapter Corresponding Secretary Diana McAleenan, presented the award to Air Force C/Major Deztini Dickerson.

These special awards are given to cadets of outstanding ability and achievement who have demonstrated qualities of loyalty, patriotism, dependability, leadership, and good character.

These students must also have a record of military and scholastic achievement during their participation in the JROTC program.

Swallow Cliff Chapter is proud to recognize another generation of young people who are willing and able to step forward and provide leadership for our country as did our patriots of generations past.
