Beecher: The Bobcat baseball team began their week on the road in a non-conference game in Cedar Lake against Hanover Central, losing 1-16. For the Bobcats, Zak Gorcowski had 2-of-the-4 Bobcat hits, while Ethan Turney recorded two shutout innings on the day. Beecher scored 1 run, on 4 hits, but committed 8 errors. Hanover Central’s bats were hot, and they scored 16 runs, on 15 hits, with only 1 error. Stout took the loss for the Bobcats.

On Thursday, April 20, the Bobcats faced Marian Catholic at home, losing to Marian in eight innings, 2-6. Marian scored 1 run in the second, and Beecher answered with a run to tie the game in the fifth, but the eighth inning proved the undoing for the Bobcats, as they gave up 5 additional runs, while only answering with 1 of their own.

On the day, Beecher had 2 runs, on eight hits, with 3 errors. Quinton Allen and Nolen Lane each recorded two hits, while Marian Catholic scored 6 runs, on 7 hits, and no errors. Zak Gorcowski went 6 and 2/3rds innings and allowed no earned runs. Lane took the loss in relief.

On April 22nd, Beecher won against Illinois Lutheran in game 1; 11-1. AJ Snell has a complete game on the mound striking out 9 with no earned runs. Zak Gorcowski and Michael Gaidar each have two hits for the Bobcat offense.

In game 2, Beecher won; 15-2. Aj Snell had three hits, Michael Gaidar and Quinton Allen each had two. Trevor Stout earned victory going 6 innings and striking out 7.
