Sacred Tree, a not-for-profit 501c3, has partnered with the Crete Public Library District for an educational Arbor Day celebration, on Saturday, April 29. A short family friendly presentation and Q&A will take place from 2 – 3 p.m., in the large room upstairs at the library, 1177 N. Main Street. Free tree e-applications may be filled out on Sacred Tree NFP’s website at https://sacredtreeorg.wixsite.com/sacredtree-org/free-trees-program. There is a limit of one tree per family, while supplies last! Don’t let that stop you from applying, as the group has trees growing that will be ready for fall planting, and they get generous donations of healthy trees on a regular basis. They also rescue small native trees and will take baby trees that have reproduced from your existing trees. Sacred Tree, currently, has a very diverse tree inventory and will help those attending choose the appropriate tree to suit your purpose and the area available for planting.
Sacred Tree has added birth and memorial trees to its programs! They always are looking for dedicated volunteers and appreciate in-kind, monetary, and gift card donations to help carry out their mission and goal of planting 100 plus trees in 2023.
