On Monday, April 3, the Panthers Varsity Softball Team faced conference foe Reed-Custer in Braidwood and brought home a whopping 15-1 victory.
According to Coach Josh Carlile, who stated, “I am so pleased with our performance tonight. The girls really embraced some changes to our approach that we have been working on. We were able to hit the ball hard up and down the lineup up, with every starter recording at least one hit, and seven hitters recording multi-hit games.”
On the day, Dralle, Hosselton, and Sosnowski each had three hits, while Ava Pequette had a double and triple to add to the offense.
Winning pitcher Alyssa Dralle and the defense did a nice job getting out of a couple of jams and playing hard for one another.
Then on Tuesday, April 4, the Panthers again faced Reed-Custer, but on their home turf, winning 4-1, in front of the hometown crowd.
“Sometimes you hit the ball really well but right at people, and that was us tonight,” was Coach Carlile’s comment regarding the team’s performance.
“Our approach has been getting better, and we know that will help us as the season goes on,” he continued.
Lily Bivona, Drew Hosselton and Syd Sosnowski all had two-hit games, while Ava Peterson had a fantastic game pitching. She was throwing a no hitter going into the seventh inning and had a really good feel tonight, attacking the zone.
Overall the Panthers are 6-2 and 4-0 in ICE.
