Omar M. Hamoui, MD, has been named the new medical director of Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Heart and Vascular Institute and brings more than 20 years of personalized cardiology care experience and academic expertise to his new role.

“We are pleased to welcome Dr. Hamoui to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Heart and Vascular Institute,” said Franciscan Health Olympia Fields President and CEO Raymond Grady. “Dr. Hamoui’s philosophy of care is to provide excellent medical care to each patient with kindness, compassion, respect, and individualized attention, which aligns perfectly with our Franciscan values. Dr. Hamoui has led numerous academic initiatives locally, regionally, and internationally. He earned the Charles Fisch Teacher of the Year Award for Excellence and Dedication in Teaching at Indiana University and will apply his experienced background in higher education to provide leadership in the planning and development of research programs at the Heart and Vascular Institute.

Dr. Hamoui played a critical role in multiple medical trials and publications focused on his areas of medical interest, including general and interventional cardiology, antithrombotic agents, stroke prevention, congestive heart failure, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
