Members of Boy Scout Troop 1441, sponsored by St. Mary Star of the Sea Holy Name Society, traveled to the Owasippe Scout Reservation in Twin Lakes, Mich. earlier this month. Staying in the historic camp welcoming lodge (built in 1946), Scouts took turns as teams to prepare all meals while working on their Cooking merit badge requirements. Scouts also worked towards earning their Conservation merit badge, as well as completing requirements for Rank advancement. Hiking trails and board game competitions for fun were a part of their visit. Any boys ages 11 to17 interested in Scouting can have a parent contact Ed Melkonian at (312) 316-5825 for further information.
