February 26 was National Letter to an Elder Day, and Village Woods Retirement and Assisted Living loves to celebrate. Once again, partnering with Coretta Scott King Magnet School in University Park and Faith URC Girl’s Club, each resident received and was delivered a personal letter to brighten their day.
Loretta H. said, “How did he know about me? What a blessing! This is such a good day.”
Dena wanted to read her own and even used a magnifying glass to get every word.
Leonard G. was all smiles when his letter was read to him. He laughed replied to the letter, “Look at the flag he drew!”
The resident who used to be a curator at the Art Institute couldn’t believe someone knew about it, and the student asked what she curated.
Village Woods is thankful for the opportunity to be a part of intergenerational activities like these. For more information about Village Woods, call 708-672-6111 or visit www.VillageWoods.com.
