Bradley Finance Director Robert Romo released the village’s annual financial report for fiscal year 2022 following the yearly audit by Lauterbach and Amen LLP of Naperville at the Monday, February 13, board of trustees meeting.
The report shows Bradley ended the fiscal year on April 30, 2022, with a surplus of $4.1 million in its general fund. Romo said this was largely the result of the collection of $12.3 million in sales tax revenue. Romo said projections indicate an even higher collection of sales tax this fiscal year, in the range of $17 million.
“We are doing a good job at prioritizing, building a new firehouse, more than $10 million used for alley and street maintenance, state-of-the-art equipment for our first responders, and our pensions are almost fully funded. It’s come to the point where we need to start thinking about how we can build amenities and attractions that will make the county a better place to attract tourists,” he stated.
Romo added that the great financial condition of Bradley means every resident has no village property tax.
