The season of Lent began Wednesday, February 22. As in past years, the Greater Peotone Clergy Association invites residents to join with churches in the greater Peotone area for a Soup Supper at 6 p.m. and Worship Service at 7 p.m., on Wednesday evenings during Lent. A good will offering will be collected benefitting Vacation Bible School, Helping Hands Food Pantry, as well as other community needs.
The Wednesday Soup Suppers and Worship Services will be held on:
- March 1 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 511 N. Conrad Street, Peotone
- March 8 – Immanuel United Church of Christ; 311 W. Corning Avenue, Peotone
- March 15 – Wilton Center Federated Church, assisted by St. John’s UCC, 14101 W. Joliet Road, Manhattan
- March 22 – Peotone United Methodist Church, 105 N. West Street, Peotone
- March 29 – Community Presbyterian Church, 64 W. Walnut Street, Manteno
On Friday, April 7, at 3 p.m., Ecumenical Stations of the Cross will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, with all Peotone Clergy and Churches represented.
