Stagg auto students take first in skills competition; Richards team finishes second
Richards High School took second place at the Automotive Skills Competition sponsored by Moraine Valley Community College.
Amos Alonzo Stagg High School automotive students took first place at the recent High School Automotive Technology Skills Competition, hosted by Moraine Valley Community College. Richards High School’s team finished second.
The event included nine local high schools with nine students on each team. Participating schools included Sandburg, Andrew, Shepard, Oak Lawn, Reavis, Argo and Richards high schools.
Richards High School senior Mikolaj Kloczkowski won first place among all competitors at the Automotive Skills Competition sponsored by Moraine Valley Community College.
The students were given a 70-question written exam and several hands-on exams, including electrical diagnosis, service Information, fasteners & micrometers and an on-car testing component.

Richards senior Mikolaj Kloczkowski placed first among all the individual competitors, while Stagg freshman Arkadiusz Garczek finished second and junior Antony Sendeha finished in third place.
A plaque and a traveling trophy were awarded to the best team and medals were awarded to the top three individuals.
Stagg team members are: Arkadiusz Garczek, Antony Sendeha, Taylor Vinson, Hannah Pries, Alin Lungu, Tizoc Gonzalez, Nycholos Golla, Adam Krzysztofek, and Ahmad Shoaib.
Richards team members include Kaitlyn Kisala, Joshua Hartell, Jesus Navarro, Austin Glesge, Joseph Fraider, Mikolaj Kloczkowski, Waleed Ahmad, Jabril Judeh, and Rachael Snyder.
Career and Technical Education teacher Keith Luszcak teaches automotive technology at Richards.
