Two Monee Police officers have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
The board of trustees authorized the promotions of Patrolman Chad Blake and Detective Dan DePaolo during the regular meeting on February 8.
Village Administrator Ruben Bautista told the board the promotions “would address current supervisory vacancies and recognize the hard work, selfless dedication, and leadership these two outstanding police officer bring to the department each day.
“Both of these officers are eligible for promotion to sergeant and are currently ranked #1 and #2 on the Sergeant’s Promotional List,” Bautista added.
In other business during the meeting, the board:
  • Approved the creation of two new supervisory positions for Monee Parks and Recreation. One position will be filled this year and the other in 2024. Salary was listed at $52,000, along with medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus tuition assistance.
  • Authorized Mayor Therese Bogs to sign a Professional Services Agreement with Robinson Engineering for services associated with ongoing roadway improvements.
  • Scheduled another Committee of the Whole meeting for February 20, at 6 p.m.
