The Morgan Li furniture factory was destroyed by a fire on Monday, February 6. The cause of the fire is under investigation. –Photo by Jim Piacentini.

The fire started shortly before 6 a.m. at the Morgan Li furniture factory, 1101 Washington, in Chicago Heights. All employees of the family-owned and run business, were safe.

The owner stated, “We will do everything we can do to rebuild what was lost and continue to support our people and the entire Chicago Heights community.”

The fire went to a 2-11 alarm, with fire departments from all over the area responding to help extinguish the fire.
