Kathleen A. Kurzweil, 61, of Bourbonnais, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Born August 30, 1961, in Blue Island, she was the daughter of Richard and Patricia (McReynolds) Peterson. Kathleen married Kenneth Kurzweil on March 14, 1980, in Markham.
Kathleen loved animals, especially her dogs, was an avid Chicago Bears fan, and enjoyed watching Indy cars, going camping, and making fudge for everyone at Christmas. Most of all, Kathleen loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Kenneth Kurzweil of Bourbonnais; daughters, Amanda (Joel) Martin of Marseilles, Amy (Mike) Warburton of Bourbonnais, and Samantha (Skylar) Mills of Gilman; grandchildren, Brodie Martin, Kendra Martin, Hailey Warburton, Logan Warburton, Peyton Mills, and Kameryn Mills; parents, Richard and Patricia Peterson of Bradley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue (Jerry) Kresek of Homer Glen, Patti (Bob) Plummer of Bunker Hill, and Vicki Young of Markham; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark Peterson of Crestwood, Greg (Kathy) Peterson of Lafayette, Indiana, and Sheryl Peterson of Midlothian. Kathleen was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Peterson, and one sister-in-law, Donna Peterson.
