Barbara Lagacy, 78, of St. Anne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born February 12, 1944, in Kankakee, she was the daughter and one-of-five children, of Joseph and Annette (Boucher) Belluso. Barbara married John Lagacy on April 4, 1964, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Kankakee.
Barbara, a retired bookkeeper, was formerly employed at Tousignant, Inc., and a long-time parishioner of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Kankakee. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, Mahjong, and bowling.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Lagacy of St. Anne; children, Patricia (Rich) Ostrowski of Tinley Park, Gary (Claudia) Lagacy of Naples, Florida, Jeffrey (Shelly) Lagacy of Bradley, and Heather (Gary) Mills of Roselle; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra (Thomas) Terry of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Kathryn (David) Langevin of Palos Park; sister-in-law, Doris Belluso of Bourbonnais; several other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Ronald Belluso and Michael Belluso.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, January 31, at St. Rose Chapel in Kankakee, with interment following at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais.
