The Village of Frankfort’s Plan Commission has directed the village board to formally object to a Will County Land Use Department approval for a trucking terminal to be operated on a 10 acre site on the east side of LaGrange Road near Stuenkel Road.
The plan commission reviewed the county’s zoning amendment for the terminal and found it is inconsistent with Frankfort’s Comprehensive Plan, which identifies the property for agriculture use. As a result, the village board passed a resolution at its Tuesday, January 17, meeting to file a written objection to the county approved rezoning from agricultural to industrial and a special use permit for the trucking terminal. The resolution of protest states the zoning amendment and permit will be injurious to the health, safety, and welfare of residents.
