Dear Editor:
Seriously, Peotone? You spent how many tens-of-thousands of dollars on that parking area? This “design” is an absolute joke! Was any thought given to vehicles larger than a small car making a turn into the lot? If our pickup truck can hardly make the turn, what makes you think a snowplow can do its job? There was absolutely no need to waste funds hiring an outside firm to come up with this nonsense. You could have simply paved the area and added a couple of street lights. That would have saved the taxpayers quite a bid of money.
And seriously, Peotone? A truck stop is your answer to growth in the town? Have you been around the truck stop area in Monee? Not only will this make truck traffic an absolute congestion nightmare, the noise pollution will be unbearable, litter will be disgusting and plentiful, crime will increase significantly (just read the Monee police blotter!), and this fully takes away from the small town feel that makes Peotone, Peotone.
If these are the types of decisions you’ll be making for the town, the decision makers need to be replaced!
