Susan L. Ludwig, 79, of Kankakee, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, surrounded by the love of her children, Debra S. Brown, Brenda Brown Hiller, Mike Brown, and Jacquelyn Ludwig Fedrow. Born June 3, 1943 in Kankakee, she was the daughter of Clarence “Jack” and Susan Ricchi Jackson.
Ms. Ludwig was a Registered Nurse at Shapiro Developmental Center, retiring in 2002, and also a clinical CNA instructor at KCC, as well as a home care nurse for Advantage Nursing Services. Susan enjoyed traveling, bus trips, spending time at her beautiful Florida home, and time with her family and friends.
In addition to her children, she also is survived by two sons-in-law, Dennis Hiller and Gregg Fedrow; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Susan was preceded in death by her husband, William Ludwig, whom she married August 14, 1970; her parents, Clarence and Susan Jackson; one brother, Darrow Jackson; and one daughter-in-law, Tammy Brown.
A funeral service was held on January 17, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee, with private family interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee.
