Marcus Wade

From staff reports

A Homewood man has been charged with a forgery case that dates back to October.

Palos Heights police arrested Marcus Wade on January 4 and he was charged with a felony count of forgery stemming from an incident that happened October 21.

Police took a report from resident that he had mailed a check for payment of a bill, but the check was intercepted in transit and was altered. The check was then deposited using a mobile phone deposit.

Palos Heights police investigators matched the IP address of the mobile phone to the sole account holder of the account it was deposited in.
Wade, 37, from Homewood, was charged with one felony count of forgery.

Police said Wade gave post-Miranda statements confessing to the crime.

He was released on bond.
