Pearl A. Evans, 88, of Bonfield, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee. Born November 16, 1934, in Rochester, Minnesota, she was the daughter of George and Hazel (Langland) Batdorf. Pearl married Everett E. Evans on October 3, 1953, at Sacred Heart Church in Goodrich. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2009.
Pearl, a volunteer at local hospitals, was a former employee of Kroehler Manufacturing. She was a member of Women of the Moose and the Bonfield Lioness Club and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Pearl received so much pleasure from spending time with all her grandchildren. Pearl also was a member of Bonfield Methodist Church.
Surviving are sons, Eugene Evans of Rantoul, Steven (Sally) Evans of Bonfield, and Richard (Donna) Evans of Limestone; daughter, Susan Clutter of Bonfield; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Everett E. Evans, Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Batdorf; and sister, Judy Fromknecht.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of the noon funeral service on Thursday, January 5, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee, with Rev. Keith Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow at Bonfield Cemetery in Bonfield.
