The Palos Park Police Foundation is dedicated to preventing crime, saving lives and making our community a better and safer place to live and work, by assisting the Police Department with resources not available from the village. The Foundation is the major source of private support for the PPPD.

The foundation is selling license plate holders to raise money. Plates are available at the police station.

The Foundation was formed in 2010 to help fund urgently needed programs and equipment for the Palos Park Police Department.

Mayor John Mahoney said, “The Police Foundation is a vital resource for the people of our community to work in a collaborative partnership. It is businesses and individuals working with police officers to enrich and support our community, making it a better place for all.”

“The Police Foundation is a vital resource for the people of our community to work in a collaborative partnership,” said Police Commissioner Dan Polk. “It is businesses and individuals working with police officers to enrich and support our community, making it a better place for all.  Police departments nationwide are juggling budget cuts and the reality is that cuts can have an impact on our operational abilities.  The need for the Police Foundation as a source of private financial support for the PPPD has never been greater.  Their work serves as an integral partner in the successes of the Department.”

  1. Yeah, I really don’t think the Palos Park police are hurting for $$. With all the actual charities that can use the money, what kind of bootlicker gives MORE to the cops? Like we already don’t pay enough in taxes to them. Sheesh!

  2. Leonard Truth that was a very rude comment. These men and women put their lives on the line, miss holidays and events with their families, etc., for us. You should have a little respect, or at least just scroll past.
