Ambulance with shooting victim struck by SUV

A 39-year-old man was shot in the right arm as he stood outside in the 6300 block of South Troy at 12:35 p.m. Sunday, March 20. The victim was transported by CFD ambulance to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition. No one is in custody. On the way to the hospital, the southbound ambulance was at 79^th and Pulaski when it was struck by an eastbound SUV driven by a 26-year-old woman. The SUV flipped over and came to rest in the intersection. The driver was uninjured, police said. She was ticketed for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. No one in the ambulance was injured as a result of the crash.

Rideshare driver shot in Gage Park

A 40-year-old rideshare driver was shot in the abdomen just after he dropped off a passenger in the 5400 block of South California at about 4:40 a.m. Saturday, March 19. Police said the shooter was on foot and fired from between parked vehicles. The victim was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. The shooter remains at large.

Teen shot in an alley

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the lower right leg as he walked down an alley in the 5600 block of South Sawyer at 7:38 p.m. Thursday, March 17. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. No one is in custody.

Man shot in the back on Western Ave.

A 32-year-old man was shot in the back as he sat in a vehicle in the 4400 block of South Western at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday, March 17.

The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. There are no offenders in custody.

Shot in the shoulder on Kildare

A 23-year-old man was shot in the shoulder as he sat in a vehicle in the 5000 block of South Kildare at 5:32 p.m. Thursday, March 17. His vehicle was struck by another vehicle, and someone from the second vehicle pulled a gun and opened fire. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. There are no offenders in custody.

Hawkins

Arrest N.Y. man at MDW

A 56-year-old man from Schenectady, N.Y. was charged with criminal trespass to state land after he was arrested at a gate at Midway International Airport at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27.

William E. Hawkins allegedly refused to leaving a boarding area at a gate after employees refused to let him board because he allegedly was intoxicated, a CPD spokesman said without elaborating. 

Charge man with domestic battery, stalking

Watson

A 28-year-old Scottsdale man was charged with two counts of domestic battery, two counts of stalking and two counts of violating an order of protection after he was arrested in the 8400 block of South Kostner at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Evan A. Watson, of the 8000 block of South Kirkland was apprehended without incident. A CPD spokesman would only say that the victim is a man.

According to public records, Watson was arrested at his home in January and charged with violating an order of protection.

He hit me with a shovel, woman says

Shareef

A 54-year-old Ashburn man was charged with domestic battery after he was arrested at his home in the 3900 block of West 82^nd Street at 11:14 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25.

Jonathan Shareef allegedly hit a 47-year-old woman with a shovel, a CPD spokesman said without elaborating.

Charge with man with violating order of protection

Zermano

A 34-year-old West Elsdon man was charged with violating an order of protection after he was arrested at his home in the 3800 block of West 57^th Place.

Jesus Zermano allegedly had contact with a 68-year-old man, in violation of a court order, a CPD spokesman said.

According to public records, Zermano has been arrested seven times by CPD since 2014 on charges that included domestic battery (four times), battery, assault and resisting arrest.

Claim molested girl

Saldivar

A 28-year-old Garfield Ridge man was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child after he was arrested by a fugitive task force at 52^nd and Menard at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 2.

Rogelio Saldivar, of the 5200 block of South Monitor, allegedly molested a 7-year-old girl about 11 years ago, a CPD spokesman said while declining to offer further details.

Tracking device leads to theft arrest

A 29-year-old West Loop man was charged with retail theft after he was arrested during a traffic stop at 65^th and Cicero at 1:14 p.m. Thursday, March 3.

Porche

Jakoby L. Porche, of the 1400 block of South Canal, allegedly stole merchandise from a store near 41^st and Pulaski. A CPD spokesman declined to say what was allegedly stolen, but said it had an embedded tracking device police used to find Porche.

According to public records, Porche has been arrested four times by CPD since 2020 on charges that included possession of a controlled substance and retail theft.

 Charge NW Sider with trespassing at MDW

A 67-year-old Portage Park man was charged with criminal trespass to state land after he was arrested at Midway International Airport at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, March 9.

Hargrove

Anthony Hargrove, of the 4600 block of North Leclaire, was spotted in the baggage claim area of the terminal, despite having previously been banned from airport property, a CPD spokesman said.

According to public records, Hargrove was been arrested five times by CPD in recent years—including once on O’Hare property, where he was charged with four counts of theft. He also has been arrested twice of charges of drug possession.

Claim man punched woman

Mangan

A 21-year-old Chrysler Village man was charged with domestic battery after he was arrested in the 5100 block of South Laporte at 9:38 p.m. Friday, March 4.

Raymond A. Mangan, of the 6300 block of South Lorel, allegedly punched a 20-year-old woman in the face and body during an argument, several hours before his arrest.

Traffic stop leads to drug charge

Guzman

A 37-year-old Scottsdale man was charged with possession of a controlled substance after he was arrested during a traffic stop at 8301 S. Cicero at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday, March 2.

Antonio Guzman, of the 8600 block of South Kostner, allegedly bought illegal drugs from an undercover police officer back on Jan. 25, a CPD spokesman said without elaborating.

According to public records, Guzman was arrested by CPD in August 2014 at his home and charged with domestic battery.
